TURNED ∀

In August 2022, A Vibe Called Tech launched Turned ∀, a cultural merchandising project which seeks to amplify key messages of A Vibe Called Tech’s projects. The initiative is a chance for us to continue to share and explore elements of culture that have been marginalised and to present those ideas in a way that is accessible to everyone.

In maths, the symbol ∀ means “for all” or “for any” which is at the heart of the brand. The name, turned A, is also inspired by the families of  Charlene and Lewis as the initial A is important to them both.

The initiative is the beginning of a longer-term series of collaborations where AVCT amplify stories and messages that resonate with ideas of global connection.

Exploring Black narratives and inclusivity has been at the centre of A Vibe Called Tech’s work since Charlene Prempeh founded the agency in 2018. With Turned A, Prempeh and Creative Director, Lewis Gilbert aim to highlight ideas and approaches from their shared culture that can shed light and inform the way we live our lives today.

The first collection is a limited edition drop available to purchase exclusively from the cultural merchandising platform Unified Goods

The first product drop includes long and short sleeve t-shirts, as well as caps emblazoned with We, are all they, paying homage to Ghanaian culture and the absence of gender in the country's dialects. We are all they also references the first campaign that A Vibe Called Tech created as an agency.
